In the Edith Cowan University-led study, 22 sedentary adults aged 32 to 69 followed two weeks of their normal routines, then completed a four-week program of one slow set each day consisting of chair squats, chair reclines, wall push-ups, and heel drops. The unique feature was a five-second lowering phase with a one-second upward action.
